The guide brings together information about services for older adults offered by the City of Helsinki, associations, organisations and private service providers – all in one convenient package.
As in previous years, the guide can be read on the City’s website. You can also order a printed copy by contacting Senior Info or visiting the Senior Info service point. Copies are also available in libraries, service centres and community houses, among other locations.
The guide will be automatically mailed to all Helsinki residents turning 75 or 85 this year.
Updated look and new content
The Senior Services Guide is one of the most popular publications produced by the Social Services, Health Care and Rescue Services Division. It has been published regularly since 2009. This year’s edition features a new, more visual layout, with a focus on clarity, readability and accessibility.
The renewed guide takes a more comprehensive approach to preparing for ageing and the future. It includes practical information on topics such as powers of attorney and housing solutions.
This edition also expands the section on digital tools, offering tips on navigating the online world safely.
“Readers will, for example, find advice on how to avoid online scams, set up a direct marketing ban and protect their personal data,” explains Senior Info.
The guide continues to be developed based on feedback from readers.
“You can submit feedback at any time using the electronic feedback form. You can also fill out a paper form at Senior Info,” they add.
