Plans for central part of Malminkartano progress – new homes for an estimated 1,000 people

New residential buildings, brick and mortar commercial premises, a daycare centre and parking solutions are planned in the immediate vicinity of the Malminkartano train station along Malminkartanontie. You can view the plan online until 24 November. The plan will be presented on 4 November at a multilingual residents' evening in Malminkartano.

The plan has been drawn up in accordance with the planning principles for Malminkartano. Since the first drafts from 2022, the plans have been scaled down, and the construction will now be located along Malminkartanontie.

A significant part of Kartanonmetsä will be preserved, and most of the currently unplanned areas will be planned as parks or recreational areas. At the same time, the development options for outdoor trails in the Kartanonmetsä area will be explored.

Malminkartanontie and the station area will be made more pleasant. Vertical access routes at the station will be improved. The project also includes a review of possible locations for the new Myyrmäenbaana cycle path in the north-south direction; the cycle path could possibly run in a tunnel under Kartanonmetsä.
