Kumpula outdoor swimming pool

The Kumpula Outdoor Swimming Pool attracts visitors throughout the summer. It is located by excellent transport connections from the city centre.

Kumpula Outdoor Swimming Pool is a popular swimming and sports facility that attracts visitors throughout the summer. Kumpula Outdoor Swimming Pool was built as a training pool for the 1952 Olympic Games, and it is the third oldest public outdoor swimming pool in Finland.

In addition to four swimming pools, Kumpula also features a diving tower, an outdoor gym, a beach volley court, a basketball court, a table tennis table, a playground and a café, among other things. The lifeguards lend out table tennis rackets and balls in exchange for a deposit. You can borrow aqua jogging belts from the poolside. The main building features separate shower rooms and saunas for women and men.

There are lawn areas, deckchairs and trees around the pools. The outdoor swimming pool also hosts hydrobics classes. During the final week of the season, the outdoor swimming pool is decorated with ambient lighting for the annual moonlight swims.

The changing rooms have lockers that you can lock with a plastic card (such as a customer card or library card). If you do not have a plastic card, you can borrow one from the cash desk. Swimming in shorts is prohibited, with the exception of swimming shorts. The use of large swim fins, monofins and mermaid tails is prohibited.

Other important details: Photography is prohibited throughout the outdoor swimming pool area. If you wish to take photos, you need a photography permit from Sports Services.
