Health care and social welfare messages and letters now in digital format

As of 14 April 2026, you will receive messages and letters from the City of Helsinki’s health and social services digitally not only in Maisa, but also in Suomi.fi Messages. Paper mail from authorities will remain an option for everyone.

Many things change when you turn 18
When you turn 18, your parents' guardianship ends. It is important that you handle possible guardianship matters in good time. As an adult, you will also have to start paying for many things that were previously free of charge.
Living in your own home
For many young people, adulthood means moving out of their childhood home. There are many different ways to find your own home.
Employment support, work activities and daytime activities
You can find meaningful employment through job coaching, for example. You can practise career skills in work activities. Daytime activities can also provide you with meaningful things to do.
Kela benefits and rehabilitation for adults
Kela provides various forms of financial support. You can also apply for rehabilitation and adaptation coaching.
