The Brief Therapy Unit offers brief therapy for Helsinki residents over 13 years of age. Brief therapy is suitable for mild to moderate mental health challenges. Brief therapy work is structured and goal-oriented and includes independent work between weekly appointments. There will usually be 5-7 appointments.
The brief therapy unit also offers group-based brief therapy focusing on different symptom groups. The group therapies include:
- Group therapy for depression
- Group therapy for phobias and panic disorder
- Group therapy for generalised anxiety disorder
- Group therapy for obsessive-compulsive disorder
- Skills training group
We accept clients with a referral from a social or health care professional from basic public services or student welfare when brief therapy is the most suitable treatment for your situation.
If your native language is other than Finnish or Swedish, we can use an interpreter. If you wish, we can also carry out the appointments via video as remote appointments.
Our services are free of charge, but we do charge a
penalty fee for an uncancelled appointment.
